Earlier in September I spent a wonderful evening at The Book Shelf in Winona, Minnesota, where owner Chris Livingston hosted a book signing event for my book Beyond the Pasta: Recipes, Language & Life with an Italian Family. The event was actually a dinner and discussion. Larry, Colleen and their staff at the Blue Heron Coffee House cooked a meal using recipes from my book. They did a great job – Bravi!
Here is a video, created by Meredith Olsen with music by Gregg Coffin, which lets you take a peek at only a bit of the entire evening. The recipes where such a hit that the first course (the pasta course), Penne with Mushrooms and Cream, was featured on the Blue Heron’s dinner menu two days later. I take that as a compliment.
